Grounds Map
The grounds map is your own image of the fairgrounds with placement pins on it — where each vendor goes, where the stages are, where the carnival sits.
Setting it up
Upload a grounds image. An aerial photo, a site plan, or a commissioned drawing. Anything the team recognizes.
Pins
Place pins by dragging them onto the image. Pins are positioned as percentages of the image, so the map stays correct at any screen size and on print.
Pins are color-keyed by category with a legend:
- Food vendors
- Goods vendors
- Entertainment and stages
- Carnival
- Facilities
Adjacency warning
When two food vendors selling the same category of goods are placed next to each other, the map warns you.
The warning requires both conditions — proximity and a shared menu category. Two food vendors side by side selling different things is normal and is not flagged; two funnel cake stands next to each other is the thing you want to catch before opening day rather than after.
This works off the menu data food vendors submit, so it only fires where menus have been entered.
The placement sheet
Print a placement sheet from the map — the image with its pins and a legend, sized for a clipboard. It is what the person directing vendors on setup morning actually carries.
Still to come
- A public version of the map for attendees. It is admin-only today.
- Vendor-side placement, so a vendor can see their own spot from their portal.
