Settings
Settings is a tab strip. Everything here shapes how the rest of the product behaves, and most of it you set once.
The tabs
| Tab | What it controls |
|---|---|
| General | Identity, address, logo, timezone, invoice numbering, splash screen |
| Team | Members, per-side roles, invitations |
| Payments & Stripe | Connections, surcharges, fees, deposit defaults, tax |
| Service Fees | Named reusable fees for invoices |
| Card Readers | In-person card payment hardware |
| Contract Templates | Agreements and their merge tags |
| Task Templates | Reusable pre-event checklists |
| Notifications | What every automated email says |
| Reminders | When automated nags go out |
| Email Log | Every email the account has sent |
| Portal | Renter portal on/off and its options |
| Booking Widget | The embeddable inquiry form |
Who can change settings
Settings access is a permission, separate from the per-side roles. Somebody can have full run of Rentals and no ability to change how the account is configured.
Billing is its own permission again.
The order to do it in
If you are setting up a new account, work through Your First Week rather than the tab strip left to right. Some settings block others — the timezone shapes every date, and the Stripe connection has to exist before deposits mean anything.
Settings that are not here
Two things that feel like settings but live in the main nav, because you change them often enough that burying them was wrong:
