Spaces

Spaces are the rentable parts of your grounds: the exhibition hall, the arena, the pavilion, the show ring, the parking field. They are the inventory every booking is built from.

Creating a space

Rates

• Hourly rate — for part-day rentals
• Daily rate — for full-day rentals

Both are defaults. The rate type is chosen per booking line, and a flat rate can be entered at booking time for anything negotiated.

maintenance	Off the board while work happens, without deleting anything

Use maintenance for the month the roof is being replaced. Existing bookings stay where they are; nothing new can be added.

Calendar color

Every space carries a color, and the calendar is colored by it.

Pick distinct colors now

Six shades of blue are unreadable in August. Spread them across the wheel while you only have four spaces and you never have to redo it.

Flags

• Rentable — available on the Rentals side
• Vendor space — available to the Fairground side for vendor booth placement, so the same physical inventory serves both without being entered twice

The space detail screen

Alongside the settings, each space shows how it is actually performing:

• Bookings count and upcoming commitments
• Booked revenue
• Top renters for this space

Useful for the questions that come up at board meetings — which space earns, which sits empty, who uses it.

Availability

The calendar filtered to one space answers "is the arena free that weekend" faster than anything else. Conflict detection on the booking form covers the rest, including setup and teardown windows.
