Leads

A lead is an inquiry that has not become a renter yet. Leads are managed as a kanban board — cards you drag between stages — rather than a table, because a pipeline is something you move things through.

Where leads come from

  • The booking widget on your public website
  • Manual entry for phone calls and walk-ins
  • Email, referrals, and partners, recorded by source

The board

Stages are columns. The default set runs new → contacted → qualified → proposal sent → converted or lost, and you can rename, reorder, and add stages to match how you actually work.

Some stages carry meaning the product understands — converted and lost — so reporting stays correct however you rename things.

Cards can carry labels for colour-coded segmentation, and comments for the running conversation about that inquiry.

Working the board

Drag a card to move it. Assign an owner so nothing sits unclaimed. Set a follow-up date and it surfaces when it is due.

When a lead dies, move it to lost and record a lost reason. It takes a second and it is the only way to answer "why are we losing these" later.

Converting to a renter

Convert turns a lead into a renter, carrying the contact details, organization, and source across. Optionally it also opens a draft booking pre-filled with the event name, dates, and spaces they asked about — so an inquiry from your website becomes a priced quote without anything being retyped.

The renter keeps a link back to the lead it came from, which is what makes source-to-revenue reporting possible.

Reporting

The pipeline report in Reports shows lead volume by source, conversion rate through the stages, and lead-to-booking conversion — which tells you whether the widget on your website is worth the space it takes up.

Boards elsewhere

The board engine is generic. Leads are the first place it appears, and it is designed to be reused for other kinds of work later — task boards, event planning boards on the Fairground side.
